SJCMR is looking for Seasonal Lifeguards for the Summer beach season. A few important dates are coming up and we don’t want you to miss them:

Guards wishing to attend Marine Rescue Academy I
• Initial Paperwork – Due by Tuesday, March 1, or at the time of tryout, whichever occurs first.
• Tryout/Physical Recertification – Last tryout / physical that you can attend is Saturday, Feb. 27. Tryouts will be held at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind (FSDB) 207 North San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, FL 32084

• Initial Paperwork – Due by Thursday, April 28, or at the time of tryout, whichever occurs first.
• Tryout / Physical Recertification – Last tryout/physical that you can attend is Sunday, May 1

If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard on SJC Beaches this summer, make plans to attend our 2015 Summer Lifeguard Academy. Below are all the details concerning tryouts and the 2015 Academy dates and times.

Seasonal Employment Tryouts: Prospective new employees must have completed all employment paperwork prior to completing the tryout.

Saturday December 6th 10am
Saturday December 27th 10am
Saturday January 3rd 10am
Saturday January 24th 10am
Saturday February 14th 10am
Saturday February 28th 10am
Sunday March 1st 1pm – Last tryout to be eligible for the Marine Rescue Academy
Sunday March 22nd 1pm
Sunday May 3rd 1pm – Last tryout to be eligible for the MR Summer Academy

The 2015 Marine Rescue Academy will be held on the following dates:

Seasonal Orientation #1 – Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10am

Marine Rescue Academy classes – March: 10th, 12th, 14th, 17th, 19th, 21st, 24th, 26th, 28th, 31st. April: 2nd, 5th, 7th 9th 12th

Classes will be held on Tuesday’s, Thursdays Saturdays or Sundays as reflected in the dates above. On weekdays the classes will run from 6pm – 10pm and on the weekends from 9am – 5pm.

Seasonal Orientation #2 Summer Academy – Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 6:00pm

Marine Rescue Summer Academy classes – May 7th – 21st weekdays from 6pm-10pm and weekends from 9am – 5pm
