Expect temporary slowdowns and traffic delays along West King Street, South St. Johns Street, West 6th Street and Duval Street on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 7 to 10:30 a.m. during the West Augustine CDC 2K Health and Wellness Walk.

On this International E-Waste Day, electronic waste can pose risks to human health and the environment when it isn’t handled properly. Environmental experts say electronic waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams in the world. However, St. Johns County has two transfer stations where crews can dispose electronic waste and lithium-ion batteries for free.

🚮 Before you toss it, let's test your recycling knowledge!

You’ve upgraded your phone, replaced your computer, or found an old tablet in a drawer. Now what? Should old electronics go in your trash bin or curbside recycling? 💻

The answer? ➡️ No.

Old electronics that end up in landfills can create major environmental and health problems because they leak toxic heavy metals into soil and water. Additionally, many electronics contain lithium-ion batteries which can start fires.

Bring your e-waste to 📍Tillman Ridge or Stratton Rd. Transfer Station for proper recycling and disposal.

Connecting Businesses with Local Farmers 🌽

St. Johns County is partnering with Slow Food First Coast, The Floridian, and the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau to connect local businesses with area farmers and promote the Slow Food First Coast Snail of Approval program.

The free Slow Food Snail of Approval Program event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at The Floridian, 485 Old Beach Road in St. Augustine.

The event is designed to help local restaurants, retailers, chefs, and other businesses learn more about the Snail of Approval program, including eligibility requirements and opportunities to participate.

In the latest episode of County Conversations, Director of Management and Budget, Wade Schroeder, explains how the proposed Amendment 3 would affect the property tax revenue.

If residents voted in favor of Amendment 3, Schroeder says, according to the Florida Office of Economic & Demographic Research, the county would see a reduction in revenue of more than $68 million in the first year (2028) and $136 million in 2029.

Ribbon Cutting for SR 207 Water Reclamation Facility

St. Johns County Utilities invites the public to celebrate the completion of the State Road 207 Water Reclamation Facility on Thursday, Oct. 15. The ceremony will include remarks and a ribbon cutting, followed by tours of the facility.

When: Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, 9 a.m.

Where: State Road 207 Water Reclamation Facility, 3055 State Road 207, Elkton, FL 32033.
Upon entering the facility, follow the access road toward the back of the property.

The State Road 207 Water Reclamation Facility, which came online May 11, 2026, treats wastewater and produces reclaimed water for irrigation, helping conserve drinking water supplies and protect local waterways.
