"To SERVE those in need"

Due to Florida Records laws, we do not respond to emails on FB at this time. Johns County Fire Rescue provides countywide public safety services to the citizens and visitors of the County. The Department provides coverage to 608 square miles, excluding primary fire protection within the City of St. Augustine (EMS and automatic aid for structure fires is included). The Dep

artment’s organizational structure is divided into functional sections with well-defined areas of responsibility. Each section is assigned a Section Chief, who is directly accountable to the Fire Rescue Chief. Section Chiefs are delegated the responsibility and authority to control their sections, allowing each to function in their respective area of expertise.

🌀 Hurricane Season Starts Today 🌀

June 1 marks the first day of hurricane season, and now is the time to make sure you and your family are prepared.

Take a few minutes to review your emergency plan, build or restock your disaster supply kit, secure your property, and stay informed through trusted weather and emergency management sources.

Preparation before a storm is one of the most important steps you can take to keep your family safe.

✅ Make a Plan
✅ Build a Kit
✅ Know Your Evacuation Zone
✅ Stay Informed

The best time to prepare is before a storm is on the horizon.

Station 19 A Shift responded to an unusual rescue today after 11 ducklings became trapped in a sewer. Our crews worked carefully to safely remove each duckling and reunite them with their mother.

Whether it’s a major emergency or a small rescue, we are always ready to serve those in need.

Today, members of St. Johns County Fire Rescue had the honor of attending Trauma Survivors Day at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital — a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

Lt. Rudy Rios and Eng. San Lee had the opportunity to reunite with a patient they helped save following a serious motor vehicle accident. Standing alongside the incredible trauma team, nurses, physicians, and hospital staff involved in that patient’s care was a full-circle moment that highlighted the strength of the entire chain of survival.

This is exactly why we continue to invest in advanced prehospital medicine and critical care capabilities, including carrying blood products and providing advanced lifesaving interventions in the field. Early critical care can make the difference between life and death long before a patient ever reaches the hospital.

From the first 911 call and roadside care to surgery, rehabilitation, and recovery, it takes a team effort to turn tragedy into survival. Events like this remind us that behind every call is a person, a family, and a story that continues long after the scene is cleared.

We are grateful to the staff at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care they provide to our community every day and for allowing our crews to share in these meaningful moments of recovery and resilience.
