⛈️ Thunderstorms are expected throughout the day. If lightning is present or you hear thunder, leave the beach immediately and seek shelter indoors. It is not safe to remain on the beach during a thunderstorm.

Remember: When thunder roars, go indoors! Stay weather-aware and always swim near a lifeguard.

Meet the 2026 St. Johns County Fire Rescue Marine Rescue Team! 🌊☀️

These dedicated men and women are committed to protecting the residents and visitors who enjoy St. Johns County’s beaches each day. From preventative actions and public education to emergency response and lifesaving rescues, our lifeguards stand ready to keep our beaches safe all season long.

🏖️ Tomorrow, Saturday, May 23, marks the official start of Lifeguard Tower Season!

Remember, the safest place to swim is in sight of a trained lifeguard. Before heading to the beach, check daily beach conditions, understand the warning flags, and if in doubt, don’t go out.

Increased surface overnight, waves 2-3 feet. National Weather Service has issued a rip current advisory, with numerous rip currents along all SJC beaches! Pay attention to posted warning flags and signs. Lifeguards will be out in patrols only for one more day!
