⛈️ Rider on the storm

Happy Marine Monday and first day of June! It's also the start of hurricane season, which is why we're bringing you this bird soaring high over a stormy sea at Vilano Beach. Hopefully, we're able to soar through this season just as easily.

Please be careful when swimming in the ocean and always pay attention to the conditions. Lt. Dan Power has spent more than 30 years working on these beaches and knows firsthand how quickly the ocean can change.

As we get into summer, water safety is a huge concern. That's why we're asking our local first responders what the biggest mistakes are that they see. Lt. Dan Power with St Johns County Fire Rescue shared some important advice for families.
