St. Bernard, Ohio

St. Bernard, Ohio Come for a visit, Sit for a while, Stay for a lifetime! A successful community is merely a reflection of its government and the faces at St.

Bernard's Government Hall mirror the friendliness, concern and community pride of residents. An elected mayor, council, law director, treasurer and auditor govern the town of over 5,000 residents. There are two active non-partisan political parties, and local election turnout is always high. Because raw land is scarce, the city has developed under-used areas. The former Our Lady of Angels High Sch

ool property became one of the city's newest housing developments. Officials keep a close eye on industrial residential and commercial development with a plan review that encourages urban renewal, new business, overall growth and maintenance of the entire community. Government hall is a two-building complex located in the heart of town. Government offices and council chambers are in the main building; the municipal building includes meeting rooms.

Saturday, June 6th, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, the Village will host a combined Community Shred Day, Electronic Recycling Event, and Hazardous Waste Collection at the Service Department, located at 5230 Vine Street.

This free community event for residents provides residents with an opportunity to safely declutter their homes and properly dispose of items that cannot or should not be placed in regular trash collection.

Residents attending the event should enter through the northernmost entrance, adjacent to P&G, and proceed through the Service Department route, passing each recycling vendor.

We encourage all residents to take advantage of this opportunity to safely and responsibly dispose of materials in an environmentally responsible manner.

For any questions about the event please contact Councilman Gus Stuchell at [email protected]

Report of a disturbance involving a large group of vehicles at Lower Ross Park in the early hours of Sunday, May 31 at approximately 12:30 a.m.

The St. Bernard Police Department was alerted to a possible disturbance and a large number of vehicles at Lower Ross Park. Upon arrival our officers blocked the exit to investigate. It was determined that this mass gathering was organized by a promoter and that there was no threat to the community. The group was warned that further gatherings after park hours will result in citations and they are trying to determine if the promoter organized the previous event last weekend. All persons and vehicles were ordered to leave with the scene being cleared at 1:06 a.m.

The St. Police Department will be monitoring the situation closely for further instances and measures will be taken to secure Lower Ross Park from vehicles after park hours of 11 p.m. We appreciate the community for reporting this disturbance and will have increased patrols in the parks after hours.

Respectfully,

Jonathan Stuchell, Mayor

We truly appreciate your understanding!
