As Valley employees know, we have merged with Listening Ear/Crisis Center and all homes have made it through the process and onboarded with the new provider. It has been an amazing four decades providing services to people throughout the state of Michigan and fostering bonds with those we employed. We think there is a bright future ahead with Listening Ear and wish everyone the best! Earlier this year VRSI-Mulliken Home lost a long-time team member, Keith Rohrbacher, who would have celebrated his birthday today. His family - especially his aunt and best friend, Robin (our Health & Safety Director) - always considered a birthday to be a month long celebration. Today we want to pause to honor a friend and colleague who was taken far too soon. He is greatly missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and the residents who considered him family. He always had a fun fact to share and we all greatly miss his kindness, knowledge, and humor. Happy birthday, Keith! ❤️

Although the national dates for this years DSP Appreciation week have come and gone, we are still celebrating our DSP Appreciation the full month of September here at VRSI. Each home hosts a get-together personalized for their employees to show how much we appreciate their hard work. DSP's are tasked to wear many hats, including caregiver, friend, cook, driver, activity coordinator, the list goes on! And it's their hard work that helps keep the homes running and the residents happy. Tell a DSP that you appreciate them today!
