The Kane County Law Library & Self Help Legal Center’s social media policy includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Social media platforms are used to push out information about the Law Library, its programs, and information of importance and interest to its users

and potential users. Comments posted by members of the public do not necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of the Law Library. Comments containing any of the following are not permitted and are subject to removal:

 Obscene, sexual, or pornographic content or language.
 Content that promotes discrimination based on race, age, religion, gender, or any other protected status.
 Content that violates any legal ownership interest such as copyright or trademark law.
 Threats.
 Conduct that violates, or encourages the violation of, any federal, state, or local law.
 Commercial activity or promotion that is not related to the business of the Law Library.
 Spam or links to malicious programs or viruses. This policy is notwithstanding any internal policies, monitoring, or terms of use of the social media platform. The Law Library reserves the right to report any violation of terms of use to the social media platform. Users who enter private or personal information on the Law Library’s social media sites do so at their own risk, and the Law Library is not responsible for any damages resulting from the public display of, or failure to remove, private or personal information. 🇺🇸In observance of Memorial Day, the Kane County Law Library will be closed Monday, May 25. We will reopen on Tuesday, May 26, at 8:30 a.m.

Please note: Our Divorce and Family Law Walk-In Program will not take place on Monday due to the closure. Kane County Law Library & Self Help Legal Center staff were excited to be in attendance at the St. Charles Public Library 📚 as Illinois Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Rochford explained the duties of the Illinois Supreme Court ⚖️. Former 16th Judicial Circuit Judge, now St. Charles Mayor, Clint Hull, served as the well-versed moderator 👔🎤. Justice Rochford stressed the work the Court is doing to help ensure access to the courts for everyone, including the creation of non-legalese court forms 📝, instructions 📄, and videos 🎥 explaining the court system and how to go to court.

The St. Charles Public Library--St. Charles, 📚will host 'Invite a Judge' on May 5, featuring 👩‍⚖️ Justice Elizabeth Rochford of the Illinois Supreme Court. ⚖️

The 'Invite a Judge' program is an initiative started by the Illinois Judges Association to strengthen public understanding of the legal system through free educational presentations delivered by experienced Illinois judges.

Court Support at APLD
The library can provide a study room, laptop, and Zoom account to attend a Zoom court hearing. This service is available at our Santori Library and West Branch locations. Rooms are available on a walk-in basis (subject to availability). To guarantee a space, call 630-264-4117 and mention that you need it for a court appearance.

APLD staff also provides one-on-one appointments if you would like assistance finding and e-filing court forms, finding general information about court rules and procedures, or finding legal resources. Appointments will last 30-60 minutes and are offered at our Santori Library location. To schedule an appointment, please call us at 630-264-4117 or book online.
