Hinterland would not be possible without the cooperation and support of the communities surrounding the festival grounds. We appreciate your partnership, hospitality, and partnership as thousands of music fans visit the area each year.
‼️As a thank you, we're inviting neighboring residents to come experience the 2026 Hinterland for free with the Hinterland Neighbor Pass. Eligible residents may receive up to two complimentary 4-day GA passes and one 4-day general parking pass. Passes are non-transferrable and may not be resold.

Who is eligible? 🪪
Current residents with a government-issued photo ID showing one of the following cities: St. Charles, St. Marys, Bevington, Truro, Martensdale, Patterson, New Virginia, Winterset.

How to get your passes:🎟️
Visit the Hinterland Box Office at 1472 Co Rd, St. Charles, IA 50240 on Wednesday, July 29th between 9am and 9pm and show your government-issued photo ID.

🎵🚦 Hinterland Festival Community Reminder 🚦🎵

As many of you know, Hinterland returns Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2, and St. Charles will see a significant increase in traffic throughout the festival weekend.

Here are a few things residents should expect:

✅ I-35 Exit 52 off-ramps (northbound and southbound) will be closed Thursday through Sunday. On-ramps will remain open.

✅ Daily festival parking traffic will travel through St. Charles from the Truro exit, using S. Morgan/Truro Pavement, Main Street, and N. Cross Street to access parking north of town. Expect increased vehicle traffic throughout the day, with heavier periods during arrival and departure times. Other parking and camping traffic will come through St. Marys, primarily on Wednesday and Thursday.

✅ Parking in town may be heavier than in previous years, including on residential streets where parking restrictions are not posted.

✅ Pedestrian traffic in town and on G-50 between St. Charles and the festival grounds is expected to be significant. Please be VERY cautious when driving in this area.

✅ Traffic may affect travel times for residents, visitors, and emergency response vehicles. Please allow extra time when traveling around town.

Hinterland allows us the opportunity to welcome thousands of visitors passing through our community. As always, let's put our best foot forward and show the friendly, welcoming spirit that makes St. Charles special. A smile, a wave, and a little extra patience can go a long way during a busy weekend.

Roadwork & Trash/Recycling Collection Notice

Due to the roadwork scheduled to begin tomorrow, Waste Management trucks may not be able to access homes on streets that will be closed.

Waste Management has been notified of the construction and has agreed to collect trash and recycling if carts are placed at an accessible location along their normal route. If your street will be closed, please make arrangements with a neighbor on an accessible street and confirm it is okay to place your cart at their location for the day.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation. We are hopeful the weather will cooperate over the next couple of days so this work can be completed as scheduled.

UPDATE: Roadwork in St. Charles has been rescheduled and will now take place Thursday and Friday, weather permitting.

InRoads will be distributing door hangers this afternoon to residents in the affected areas. They plan to begin by paving North Walnut, then move on to milling and paving the remaining scheduled streets.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed.

Summer paving projects are scheduled to begin on July 7-9, weather permitting. The affected areas include N. Walnut from Main to Council Dr., N. Highland St. from Main to E. Vine, and W. Carpenter from S. Clark going west. All of the areas will be milled and prepped for asphalt.

St. Charles Residents: For those needing to haul away branches and tree debris from their yards, someone will be at the west sewer lagoons tomorrow, Friday, June 12th from 1-3 pm.

* WHERE - Severe weather and heavy rainfall chances over much of the area, highest in eastern and southern Iowa.

* WHEN - Shower and storm chances from this morning through Thursday afternoon. Best windows for severe storms are between 3-11pm today, and 4AM and 5 PM on Thursday (may be a break between rounds Thursday late morning/early afternoon)
