🚨Save a Story: The"Read Me or W**d Me" Collection!

Have you ever wanted to rescue a book? Now is your chance! We’ve just launched our new Read Me or W**d Me highlighted collection, featuring titles that need your help to stay on our shelves.

Here is the scoop: every book in this special display has had five or fewer checkouts over the last five years. Because library shelf space is precious, these lonely books are currently on our removal list.

Their fate is in your hands! If these books aren't checked out and read by students this school year, they will be permanently weeded from our library to make room for new inventory. Come browse the display, discover a hidden gem, and save a great story from being removed.

Stop by the library and check one out today before it's gone for good!

📚Coming Up: Our "Spring Book Flood" Giveaway!

Get ready to channel some cozy Icelandic vibes in the library next week! Inspired by Jolabokaflod (the "Yule Book Flood"), we’re hosting our very own Spring Break Book Giveaway.

While the Icelandic tradition usually involves giving books to others, we’re putting a "treat yourself" spin on it. We want to ensure every student has plenty of fresh stories to dive into over the break!

What to Expect:

During your scheduled library check-out after their library lesson, each student will receive:

- Two books of their choice from our free book collection.
- A library swag bag to carry their new treasures.
- A custom bookmark and pencil to kick off their break.

Note: we will not be checking out library books from our collection at that time.

Our goal is to send every student home with a personal "flood" of reading material to enjoy during their week off.

📚🏀 March Book Madness is underway — and we’re already in Week 2!

This district-wide competition has become a favorite tradition for students, teachers, and community members alike. We are thrilled to once again partner with the St. Charles Public Library and Townhouse Books to celebrate 12 incredible new picture books!

Here’s how it works:

The Reveal:
Titles were announced on Friday, February 20th — and the excitement began immediately!

The Reading:
We kicked off live read-alouds on Monday, February 23rd, and students are diving into the stories each week.

The Vote:
New this year, students are voting for their favorite titles right at the circulation desk when they check out — making every visit to the library part of the action!

The Bracket:
During the first four weeks, students engage with three books per week. The winners advance to the Final Four in Week 5, where we will crown our D303 Champion!

We can’t wait to continue sharing these amazing stories and see which book takes home the title this year! Stay tuned as the competition heats up! 🔥📖

As we look back on the month of February, we’re reflecting on a season filled with celebration, culture, and community! ❄️📚✨

This past month, our Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover collection encouraged readers to look beyond appearances and discover hidden literary gems. So many of you took a chance on a mystery read—and found a new favorite!

We were also proud to spotlight Lunar New Year, sharing stories that honor tradition, family, and fresh beginnings. 🧧🐉

In recognition of Ramadan, we curated a thoughtful collection highlighting reflection, compassion, and cultural understanding. These titles offer meaningful perspectives and powerful storytelling and really resonated with our students who celebrate this tradition.

We were proud to honor Black History Month with a special collection highlighting powerful voices, inspiring leaders, and stories that celebrate history, culture, and achievement. Thank you to everyone who explored these meaningful reads with us.

And of course, the excitement of the Winter Olympics inspired a selection of books celebrating teamwork, perseverance, and the spirit of competition. 🏅❄️

Thank you for exploring, reading, and celebrating with us all month long. We can’t wait to share what’s in store for March—stay tuned! 🌷📖
