As our training has to be updated, our equipment must also be updated. Last week we trained with our new airbag system by lifting our pumper truck!

Tuesday we had a busy evening!
Started out getting individual and group photos taken. Next we had received a grant for new equipment! Moved on to training, setting up and refreshing our knowledge and techniques with the chainsaw and demo saw. Finally finishing the night with a home cooked meal by the executive staff from MEI! A big thank you to BALLMAN ROOFING and also JAMIE WILL MASONRY for the mock up rooftop training props!

Last week we did our final training with our new extraction equipment! These things are powerful!!! What used to take 15 mins we can now do in 3 mins with the proper application!
A huge thank you to Affordable Towing for the vehicles and a huge thanks to Al Ebbinga with Alex Air for the training!

During medical emergencies every second counts. When those seconds really become critical, this is the team that we call in for the fastest transportation. Last night mayo 1 came out to train with us and show us the new helicopter. We learned about the new equipment and the emergency procedures. We also practiced procedures for finding and marking a landing zone, landing the craft, loading a patient, and take off procedures.

Tuesday night we hosted a special training event. We invited local farmers in the surrounding area to join us for a grilled meal and understand what goes on in a grain entrapment scenario. Farmers and work hands were able to experience what being trapped in a grain bin felt like and what we do to get them out. They also learned what to do to prevent this from happening and what they can do to better their chances of survival if they are ever in this situation.
