A heartfelt thank you to the Osceola FD Benevolent for stopping by the Orlando VA Medical Center Fisher House today and preparing meals for the Veterans and families staying with us. ❤️

Robert Clark, Jeff Manganelli, Don Perry, Alessio Ceci, Troy Parker, Andrew Wargo, Maria Wargo, Steven Cardinal, and Amy Cardinal, who also serves Veterans as a nurse in the Orlando VA Emergency Department, generously gave their time to serve those who have served our nation.

Community partnerships and acts of kindness like this help make the Fisher House a true “home away from home” for Veterans and their loved ones during times when they need it most.

Osceola FD Benevolent is now pre-ordering our 25th anniversary 9-11 memorial shirt to everyone. Shirts will be available for pick up from Firehouse 47 and 62 starting Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Personnel at Osceola County Fire Rescue and EMS will be able to wear the shirts on duty from September 6-11, 2026. Proceeds will benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and their many worthy causes. Osceola FD Benevolent extends our gratitude to the instructors and attendees of this year’s conference. To our instructors — thank you for sharing not just your expertise, but your stories. The hard lessons, the honest moments, the wisdom earned through experience. That kind of openness is a gift, and it made this conference something special.

July 30, 2002, A Date We Will Never Forget

Today, we pause to honor and remember two Osceola County Firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, Lieutenant John Mickel and Firefighter Dallas Begg.

Their sacrifice is forever woven into the history of our department and serves as a constant reminder of the risks firefighters accept every time they respond to an emergency.

As we reflect on their lives and legacy, we also remember the families, friends, and fellow firefighters whose lives were forever changed by their loss. Their memory continues to inspire every member who wears the Osceola County Fire Rescue uniform.

Gone, but never forgotten, their legacy lives on.

Please join us in honoring Lieutenant John Mickel and Firefighter Dallas Begg by keeping their families in your thoughts and remembering the extraordinary sacrifice they made in service to our community.
