Our dept had a great mock accident training today! We have several new members and this was a great drill for them. Special thanks to St Edward Public School, Boone County Sheriff, Levander Funeral Home, our adult distracted driver, the kids that were victims, the moms who added extra drama and anyone else who participated to make this a successful training for all.

Today, St. Edward Fire Dept., along with several other fire departments, were in Albion for their annual mini fire school put on by the State Fire Marshal's Training Division. What an excellent class it was! The class was over rapid extrication. Tons of information was packed into a ten hour course between Friday night and all day Saturday. They also provided another class for our EMT's for continuing education hours today. That class was six hours. Thank Albion Volunteer Fire and Rescue for hosting this and allowing these surrounding departments to use your facility.

7/2/26 The Mid-Nebraska Task Force made it home last night. Its an honor and privilege to support our fellow departments when they need us. Here's hoping mother nature is done for the season.

Today is National Wildland Firefighter Day. St. Edward Volunteer Fire Department has four Red Card Certified Wildland Firefighters. Paul and Travis are currently out west helping with relief efforts on the Log Road Fire. They should be returning tonight.

7/1/26 First Shift

6/30/26 - Mid-NE Task Force has been requested at the Log Road Fire and will be leaving for a 48hr shift this evening. St. Edward will have two members and a truck going. Last heard over 1100 acres burned and high winds and low humidity affecting the efforts. Continued prayers for everyone affected and the volunteers out there battling the blaze in this heat.

Despite the chilly weather Thursday evening, we had a great water rescue class!
