orated on May 9th 1963, and currently operates out of a single station located at 3740 Bridge Street. We provide 24 hour-a-day medical and fire response. We operate a variety of emergency equipment including two engines, one rescue truck, two tankers, and one grass truck. Francis Fire Department's primary responsibility is for fire suppression, first responder medical care for the sick and injured, special rescue, fire inspections, arson investigations, fire prevention and public relations. We protect approximately 7,000 citizens over an area of about 27 square miles. Francis houses its own Police Department, School District, and an abundance of industry and retail services. We participate in an active mutual aide/auto aide program to ensure sufficient resources from and for our neighboring fire departments when needed. The Insurance Services Office, which evaluates and rates fire protection services, has rated the city of St. Francis Hydrant Area as a 6 and Non-Hydrant Area as a 9.
