FBI Milwaukee is assisting UW Police in Madison with the unsolved 1968 death of UW student Christine “Chris” Rothschild.

She was found murdered next to Sterling Hall on the UW-Madison Campus on May 28, 1968.

Jeremiah Tyler, 22, of Milwaukee, was sentenced to 16½ years in federal prison yesterday for committing nine robberies in the Milwaukee area in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

According to court records, between July 18, 2025, and August 18, 2025, Tyler brandished a weapon while committing six of the nine robberies in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties.

This case was investigated by the FBI’s Milwaukee Area Violent Crime Task Force which consists of the Milwaukee Police Department, the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office, the Wauwatosa Police Department, the Mequon Police Department, the West Allis Police Department, the Oak Creek Police Department and the Germantown Police Department, with assistance provided by the Menomonee Falls Police Department.

The FBI's Milwaukee Area Safe Streets Task Force worked jointly with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office in executing multiple state search warrants earlier this month on vehicular crimes and a drug investigation.

Among the items seized were more than a dozen fi****ms, several ounces of co***ne, 4+ pounds of ma*****na, cash, multiple key fob replicators, and two stolen cars.

FBI Milwaukee's Eau Claire and Wausau Resident Agencies arrested 32-year-old Alejandra Sanchez-Cuaquehua with the assistance of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement today in Ridgeland, Wisconsin.

She is wanted for a 2025 murder in Mexico and was arrested for illegal reentry in the Western District of Wisconsin on a criminal complaint.

Sanchez-Cuaquehua made her initial appearance on the illegal reentry charge in federal court in Madison. Following the hearing, she was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to be returned to Mexico.

The charge against Sanchez-Cuaquehua was the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI Milwaukee, the Barron County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other international law enforcement partners.

Milwaukee along with our partners combat violent crime on a daily basis.
