The City of Saint George, Kansas is a rapidly growing and progressively minded community located in SW Pottawatomie County (6 miles east of Manhattan) and is one of the fastest growing areas in the State of Kansas. The Police Department (under new leadership since 2015) has rebuilt from the ground up with integrity, professionalism, and a community based policing philosophy that works with the community rather than against it.

🎆 4th of July Fireworks in Saint George 🎆

As we get ready to celebrate Independence Day, the Saint George Police Department wants to make sure everyone has a fun and legal holiday. If you plan on setting off your own fireworks, please keep the city ordinance in mind.

Per City Ordinance (Sec. 22-8), fireworks may ONLY be discharged during the following specific dates and times:

Wednesday July 1 from noon to 10:00 PM
Thursday July 2 from noon to 10:00 PM
Friday July 3 from noon to Midnight
Saturday July 4 from noon to 12:30 am (Sunday morning, July 5)

Discharging fireworks outside of these specific times is unlawful within the city limits. Please be respectful of your neighbors and stay safe.

As we look toward the upcoming week, we join communities across the country in observing National Police Week from May 10 through May 16. This is a time to reflect on the dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of those who wear the badge.

We had a wonderful "Bike to School Day" with some of our youngest citizens this morning.

A special thanks to all the parents and grandparents that helped get everyone where they needed to be this morning.

Get Those Wheels Spinning! 🚲 St. George is Gearing Up for Bike to School Day!

Hello St. George! Join us for Bike to School Day happening this Wednesday, May 6, 2026. We want to see everyone out there.

Here is the plan:

Meeting spot: We will meet at the gravel parking lot located at Lincoln and First St.

Line-up: Line up begins at 7:15 A.M.

Head out to school: Kickstands are up at 7:30 A.M. and we start heading to school.

Please bring a properly fitted helmet and lots of smiles. We are really looking forward to everyone joining us for a great time!

Hello St. George!

Our favorite (and friendly) Code Enforcement Officer, Lindsey, wanted to share this photo as a gentle reminder that spring is here, and with that warmth comes, well... this.

She wants to remind everyone that now is the perfect time to get ahead of the game and think about that first mow of the season. Getting a jump on it now keeps our neighborhood looking its best, and avoids the need for her to write you an 'I missed you' note later this spring!

🚨 SGPD INTRODUCING SPECIALIZED AQUATIC ASSET 🚨

Our department is committed to innovative solutions for every type of threat. Since our unique territory covers both land and the banks of the Kansas River, we are deploying a highly specialized shared asset to address sub-surface safety in St. George.

Officers are currently undergoing specialized training (RSO/Specialized Vehicle Operation) for the deployment.

Any fishing conducted will be for training purposes only!
