The US National Weather Service Charleston SC has issued a flash flood warning for the tri-county area, including Dorchester County, effective now until tomorrow, June 2, at 12:15 a.m.

Large cluster of showers and thunderstorms with torrential rainfall have been moving southeast into the Charleston Metro Area today. Another 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall tonight, which combined with high tide, will likely produce areas of flash flooding, especially in parts of North Charleston and Downtown Charleston.

It’s important for anyone traveling tonight to be cautious, as it’s more difficult to recognize the dangers of flooding with lower visibility. Never drive through flooded waters.
