Have you ever wanted to pay it forward? Do you think about helping out in the community? Well I have a wonderful idea. How about paying for a child's sports fees? Do you know there are kids that would love to play but cannot due to the fees?

Youth Basketball sign-ups open on October 1st for kindergarten to sixth graders.
Registration Deadline: November 15th
K-2nd grade:
Registration fee: $45
Starts January 13th on Saturdays ONLY for 6 weeks in St. Helens/Columbia City. We need volunteers to help us run this league.

3rd-6th grade:
Registration fee: $75 per player
Starts January 13th. Two practices per week and a Saturday game (Could change based on gym availability).
Reversible jersey fee: $25 (if you have a previous year’s jersey, you can use that instead of purchasing a new jersey)

This is a non-competitive youth basketball league with an emphasis on fun and skill development. All games will be held on Saturdays. Separate practice times will be held during the week at various St. Helens School District facilities depending on the age group.

Games will rotate between Scappoose and St. Helens on Saturdays.

We need volunteers!

How to volunteer:
Please consider being a volunteer coach! Our leagues heavily rely on volunteers for the success of our programs. Volunteer coaches are required to pass a background check before the season starts, and we ask that they devote two hours during the week for team practices and one hour on Saturdays for games. If you have any further questions about volunteering, please contact the St. Helens Recreation Program at [email protected] or 503-366-8208.

Looking for ways to help in our community? Try this idea and share the box with a family you know is struggling, take it to the food bank or bring to the Family Resource Center to share with families in the district needing the help. ☺️
