🇺🇸 25 Years Later — We Remember
Twenty-five years ago today, I watched our country change forever.
September 11, 2001, is a day none of us who lived through it will ever forget. We remember the thousands of innocent people who never made it home to their families. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and other first responders who ran toward the danger, knowing the risks, because that is what they were called to do.
As a law enforcement officer and Sheriff, the events of that day carry a particularly personal meaning for me. They remind me why we take an oath to serve, why we stand beside one another, and why we never take for granted the responsibility entrusted to us by the people we serve.
We also remember the families who lost loved ones—not just on September 11th, but in the years that followed. Their sacrifice and loss continue to be felt.
Today, I ask our community to pause for a moment and remember the courage, sacrifice, and unity that followed that terrible day.
We may never fully understand the magnitude of what was lost, but we can make sure the sacrifices of those who gave everything are never forgotten.
25 years later, we remember.
We honor.
We will never forget.
