Help us restore and preserve Gros Cap Church (Sacred Heart Church). Please consider volunteering, attending a township meeting, and/or making a donation. The Mission

The Gros Cap Church, a presence on Gros Cap Road since 1918, is in need of volunteers and donations. The church roof is leaking, and as a result, the interior has also suffered some damage. In addition, the exterior needs to be paint

ed. Our plan is to restore the church, make it usable for community events, weddings, or other suitable functions, and continue work to make the church part of a Local Historic District. There is much history to preserve in Gros Cap and the surrounding area. Help us preserve it for future generations. The Plan

The first step in preserving our history is to restore the church. Our goal is to repair the roof this fall (2015). Once the roof is repaired, other restoration work can begin. We have an estimate for the roof; we hope to raise $13,000 - $15,000 through donations so work on the roof can begin as soon as possible. Should we be fortunate enough to raise more, it will be held for future work on the church/historic district. ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Any amount, no matter how large or small, will make a difference. Please make checks/donations payable to "Gros Cap Church Preservation Fund"

Tomorrow Sunday, 23 Aug at 1:30PM, Ham and Cheese will be playing at the church with guest Jim Boynton. It is looking like it’s going to be a great sunny day, so come on out and check out the church and listen to some fun music from the local quartet with their guest. We hope to see you there.

Tomorrow Better Together will perform at 1:30PM at the church. We were hoping the new cushions would arrive in time for the performance but unfortunately they didn’t make it. I know hope is not a strategy but we are planning that they will be here for the August event, date and time to be determined. Don’t forget about tomorrow. Regards

Happy to let everyone know that Nancy Kelel will be performing on Sunday, 12 Jul at 1:30 PM. Nancy Kelel moved to Los Angeles from Detroit Michigan to become a professional songwriter. She composes Soft-Pop, Folk and Adult Contemporary on piano and guitar. It’s great to have Nancy back in St ignace. She actively performs at showcases both in and out of the local area, and continues to focus on writing with the goal of having her original songs performed and recorded by other artists, tv, film and commercial placement. Hope to see you at the church.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Thank you for attending the holiday Carol and sing along tonight. It was a fun event, even for Santa. A special thanks to lina, Elaine Macdonald, Sally Ahlich, Darlene Goudreau, and Jean Bentley the elves that make things happen. And most importantly those of you that continue to support the church and the events that take place. Without your generous support and contributions we wouldn’t be able to do it. The elves have stoked up the furnace and hung the decorations, so all you have to do is bring your voice and holiday cheer! The coral starts at 7pm tonight. Gros Cap Church holiday Carol! I know your voices were hoarse after cheering on the Lions, Wolverines, and Spartans but they should be fine for Thursday night. Come and join the gang for some holiday fun to kick off the holiday season. The Christmas Carol will start at 7pm, 4 Dec. We hope to see you there. Santa is bringing in coal so we know if you are naughty or nice!
