Community Canvassing:
The Clean Water Act employees will be canvassing neighborhoods throughout the city, planning to be done by the end of October. They’ll be out talking with community members, sharing information, and listening to residents’ concerns. The photo attached explains their objectives.

With summer still in full swing, we’re seeing more vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists on the road. Please help us keep everyone safe by following these simple rules:
- Slow down — especially in residential areas and near parks
- Put the phone down — distracted driving is still one of the top causes of crashes
- Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks
- Watch for motorcycles and bicycles
- Never drive impaired

A few extra seconds of attention can prevent a lifetime of regret. Drive like the people you love are in the other car.

We had this “hundred dollar bill” turned into us recently, but don’t get fooled! This is movie prop money, not real currency. You can see it clearly marked “MOVIE PROP USE ONLY” and “NOT LEGAL TENDER” right on the bill. These are commonly used in films, TV shows, and photoshoots, but they’re completely fake.
Always double-check large bills, especially if something looks off (the printing, color, or security features). Real money has many built-in protections that these obviously don’t!

Happy 250th Birthday America! The 4th of July parade will start at 4pm this afternoon. At 3:55, all streets from Fitch St to Marquette St will close at State St. The parade will start at High St, through downtown St. Ignace, and turn up Marquette St to the Little Bear East arena. Be sure to stop by the Little Bear after the parade for food and fun!!

🚲 Kids Bike Decorating — Begins at 3:30 p.m.
🎉 Parade Starts Downtown at 4 p.m.
🍔 Community Picnic — 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Little Bear East

Bring the whole family down to enjoy an afternoon filled with patriotic fun, festive floats, decorated bikes, great food, and community spirit!

Notice of Road Closure: State Street from Marquette Street to Chambers Street on US-2 will be closed to all traffic starting at 4am for the car show event. Detour signage is in place to direct traffic around the closure.

Notice of Car Show Traffic Alert: All vehicles parked in downtown street-side parking must be removed by 3 pm today to accommodate the parade route. At 6:45 pm, a horn signal from City Hall will indicate the shutdown of traffic from the airport to Church Street. The parade will commence at approximately 6:50 pm, led by front-line cruisers, followed by the color guard and the remainder of the procession. It’s going to be a beautiful weekend, make sure to stay hydrated… with water
