****ST. IGNATIUS POLICE RECOGNIZES THREE YOUNG HEROES****

Yesterday, three Mission-area students demonstrated exceptional awareness, compassion, and courage while walking home from school. After hearing a woman beneath a bridge screaming for help and asking someone to call 911, they located her and immediately contacted emergency services.

When law enforcement arrived, the three students directed the responding officer to the woman’s location. Mission Fire and Mission Ambulance were also dispatched to assist. Because the woman’s location took the officer out of sight of both his patrol vehicle and the roadway, he instructed the students to remain in a safe location away from traffic but watch for responding emergency vehicles. The students were instructed to wave down arriving responders and help pinpoint the rescue location of the women and officer. The students knew their job at that moment and performed it exceptionally well.

The woman had previously been reported missing and was located alive. Initial information obtained during her location and rescue indicated that she had been beneath the bridge for more than 24 hours and was unable to move or walk. She had no way to summon help other than to continue yelling until someone heard her.

Out of respect for her privacy, we cannot share additional information regarding her condition, circumstances or identity. However, there is little doubt that if these three young heroes had not remained alert and done the right thing, the outcome could have been much worse. Their awareness and quick actions helped bring the search to a safe and successful conclusion.

To protect their privacy, the students will remain anonymous. However, the St. Ignatius Police Department would like to publicly recognize them and express our sincere gratitude for paying attention, taking the situation seriously, and doing exactly the right thing.

Their actions are an outstanding example of looking out for others in our community. We are incredibly grateful for these three young people. They are truly local heroes.

This afternoon 3 of our community children found a missing woman under the bridge in town. They called 911 and stayed until Police, Firefighters, and EMT’S showed up on scene. Thank you to our kids for helping our community. Good job guys

🇺🇸 MISSION SCHOOLS’ 25TH ANNIVERSARY 9/11 CEREMONY 🇺🇸

🍔****FREE CHEESEBURGER MEAL STARTING AT 6:00 P.M. SPONSORED BY VALLEY BANK****🍔

Mission Schools invites the community to join us on **Friday, September 11**, for a special ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and honoring those who serve.

There will also be a FREE CHEESEBURGER meal starting at 6:00 p.m. sponsored by Valley Bank for anybody in attendance.

We welcome all current and former military members, law enforcement officers, firefighters, medical and ambulance personnel, dispatchers, search and rescue members, corrections and detention officers, tow truck and recovery operators, and other first responders to participate.

For those participants who wish to be honored or to give honor to others, they should meet near the football field scoreboard at **6:15 p.m.**, where emergency vehicles will be staged.

The ceremony will begin at **6:30 p.m.** and will include the VFW Color Guard, a flag presentation, and a brief speech by Stuart Morton about the history of 9/11 and how it continues to affect us today. Participants are encouraged to attend in their uniforms if possible.

The ceremony will last approximately 20 minutes, with the football game beginning immediately afterward.

We invite the public to attend, help us honor those who serve, and stay to support the Mission Bulldogs!

2 at a business we were unable to make entry on the first one, made entry on the second one and found a bearing to the A/C system had come apart putting rubber smell in the building.

1 burn pile reigniting after 3 months,
Owner had placed horse manure on pile and it reignited.
3 false alarm at location. Faulty smoke alarm
1 minor crash at Allards, no injuries
1 head on crash on dirt road leading to Pine Haven, no injuries do to low speed
