LWJE Student Makes 2026 All-State Children’s Choir! ❤️🐯🤍

Congratulations to Julianne Murphy for being selected to the 2026 All-State Children’s Choir! She’ll join around 200 talented students from across Missouri for a day of rehearsal and a special performance on January 27 at Tan-Tar-A during the annual Music Teachers Conference.

Julianne’s accomplishment is a wonderful reminder of the power of Arts in Education. Opportunities like this help students build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Way to go, Julianne!

Celebrating LWJE’s Students of the Month! 🐾📚🌟

Each month, Lucy Wortham James Elementary highlights a different character trait and recognizes students who bring it to life in their classrooms.

October’s trait was CREATIVE THINKER, and Tigers have been showing off their imagination, problem-solving, and original ideas.

At the end of the month, each teacher selected one student who truly embodied this trait. Together, these Tigers are LWJE’s October Students of the Month!

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOIL ORDER ADVISORY

The middle school is part of the city boil order until further notice due to the water main break that happened Friday morning,
Parents/Guardians - Please send your students to school with a full water bottle during the boil order.
The district will ensure our building has drinking water until the boil order is lifted.

This only affects the middle school.

STATE BOUND: Cross-Country Runners Qualify for State! ❤️🐯🤍

Congratulations to our runners for their success at districts today! Two athletes are headed to next week’s state meet after finishing in the top 30: Ashton Moreland (3rd place) and Kylar Hodge (20th place)!

The state meet will take place this Friday at Gans Creek in Columbia, MO.
Help us cheer them on!

50 Days of School: Jivin’ Back in Time! 📚🐯🎸

Kindergarten took a trip to the fab ‘50s to celebrate 50 awesome days of school! From sock hops and bubblegum to root beer floats and dress-up fun, our students had a blast. Huge thanks to our teachers for making every day a rockin’ good time!
