đŸ”¥REMINDER đŸ”¥

The Stafford County Fire Departments are holding a countywide house fire training today,

Thursday, November 14th
In the 100 block of South Buckeye in Stafford.

The road will be blocked and we ask that everyone, not participating in the training, avoid the area.

We would like to remind citizens to NEVER drive over fire hoses that are laid out.

Just a friendly reminder that all control burns need to be called in to Stafford County Dispatch at 620-549-3247 prior to the burn being started. Also if you do not have a burn permit, you must get one filled out prior to burning as well. The burn permit has the regulations that you need to follow prior to any control burn. If you have any questions regarding SFCO Fire Guidelines for burning please feel free to reach out to the Fire Director at 620-617-4100.

The Stafford County Fire Department joined together this morning with all county fire stations for a vehicle extrication training. Crews trained in scene size-up, stabilizing vehicles, and many extrication scenarios.

Trainings like this prepare firefighters to be well prepared for different scenarios we might encounter in field. There is now a set of rescue equipment in every station in our county available to respond where they are needed, as well as our Rescue 1 truck stationed in Stafford that responds to all vehicle accidents and rescues in the county.

Thank you to all the firefighters that took time out of their Saturday to attend this training. We really enjoy doing these trainings to better ourselves and serve our community to the best of our ability.

Brush Fire

Crews were called to the report of a brush fire in the 1000 block of NE 190th st. Stations that responded were Hudson, Seward, Radium and Stafford stations. Ellinwood Fire Department was requested for mutual aid. Rice County Fire Department also assisted. Fire crews were on scene for approximately four and a half hours.
Cause of the fire was found to be a tree struck by lightning several days ago that finally fell lighting the field on fire.

We can't express enough how important it is that different Departments work together. This is just another example of the citizens of all counties involved benefiting by a good working relationship with neighboring departments. Again we would like to thank Ellinwood Fire and Rice County Fire.

We are proud to serve the citizens of Stafford County and our neighboring departments when needed.

If you have had any recent control burns please check them and ensure they are out. Practice precautions for preventing any potential sparks or fires.

We are looking at another day of high fire danger and wildfire threat Sunday. Some minor good news is we are not expecting any wind shifts/changes throughout the day.
