Clinton Conservation District To provide information and technical assistance to private landowners, local units of government, ed With time, that scope has broadened.

We serve the residents and property owners of Clinton County, Michigan. The Clinton Conservation District is a local unit of government established in 1954 to carry out programs for conservationโ€“ the wise use of natural resources for current and future generations. The guiding philosophy is that decisions on conservation issues should be made at the local level, by local people, with technical ass

istance provided by government. The District partners with the US Department of Agricultureโ€™s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the Michigan Department of Agriculture (MDA) and other agencies and organizations. Historically, the District focused on soil erosion on farms. Today, the District provides technical assistance, information, and education to assist people in the District to properly manage their natural resources. Agricultural producers remain the primary focus, but services are also provided to owners of smaller rural properties, suburban and urban properties, as well as local governments. Current Programs include:
- Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP)
- Upper Maple River Watershed Implementation Grant
- Hunter Access Program

Board meetings are held the last Tuesday of every month. Visit our website for the latest information on meetings & events. www.clintonconservation.org

Every year, thousands of oak trees in Michigan fall victim to the devastating oak wilt disease. While completely eradicating the disease might be a tough goal, there's definitely hope in slowing its spread and saving more of these beautiful trees.

Taking steps to control oak wilt begins with landowners. Understanding the disease cycle helps guide smarter pruning choices, making a positive difference for these vital trees. http://spr.ly/6180BBBAcg
