It's spring... and that means animals all around us are waking up! Let's have some fun contemplating what happens when you wake up from a long nap with our Animal Buddies Night at the Museum. Drop off your stuffed buddy on Friday, April 4th, and museum staff will make sure every buddy finds a safe place to spend the night. Then come back at 9AM on Saturday, April 5th to discover what your buddy did, and join in on a story time and song with special guest, VT author David Martin!

We hope you'll stop by the museum for a colorful scavenger hunt this weekend! And if you have kiddos on the older side (3-5th grade recommended), please join us for our free program that explores the science behind rainbows! 🌈

We're celebrating all the colors of the rainbow this weekend with a scavenger hunt (fun for all ages!) and an education program for kids (suggested for grades 3 -5). Join our weather expert for a comprehensive exploration of how sunlight transforms into the vibrant arcs of color we see in the sky. Discover the science
behind rainbows as we unravel the mysteries of light refraction, dispersion, and reflection. Put on your scientist hat and conduct hands-on experiments that demonstrate how light behaves!

Yesterday Balch families took a field trip to Matsinger Forest to discover pond critters and have a tea party! While they were there, they also enjoyed exploring the trails, building fairy houses, and learning about all the interesting plants and animals found on our land!

An overnight adventure for your stuffed buddy! Animal Buddies is for the youngest naturalists (ages 2 - 5). We'll take great care of your stuffies, and we'll post pictures of what's happening in the Museum while the doors are closed.

Please drop off your stuffed animal during business hours on Friday, April 12 (10 AM to 5 PM). Pick up your stuffed animal on Saturday, April 13 at 9:00 AM and join us for story time and a light breakfast.
