It is National Police Week when we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their last full measure of devotion while serving their citizens and communities.

This year the Sheriff's Office will honor Deputy Horry Fish and add his name to the National Memorial in Washington DC - Deputy Fish was feloniously murdered in the line of duty by being beaten with a log and then shot trying to prevent a jail break and escape on Feb. 2, 1868. This is a historical addition to the memorial, that is long overdue.

The Sheriff's Office will honor Deputy Fish's sacrifice at both the candlelight vigil and memorial service.

Please continue to keep all of these heroes family members and their children who are enshrined on this memorial, as well as, the law enforcement partners of these heroes who continue to ever vigilantly stand watch - holding the line, in your thoughts and prayers!!

Lest We Forget!!
