A few weeks ago, I made the suggestion, in honor of an amazing man named Richard Hunt and his contributions to America, to dedicate April 24th as Richard Hunt Day.

On this day, we should reflect on the value and meaning of art, creativity, and community. Richard is a world renowned public artist with more than 160 pieces around the United States; with one being the notable sculpture on the pier at Silver Beach.

With a newly donated art studio in downtown Benton Harbor, and outpouring of love and admiration from friends, family, and former colleagues -- I was proud to watch Commissioner Yarbrough deliver the resolution to dedicate April 24th as Richard Hunt Day in Berrien County.
