Tensas Parish Police Jury President, Terrence South has issued a Emergency Proclamation for a parish wide burn ban starting at 5:00 PM, on August 20th, 2026 until conditions are safe again. The ban will be enforced according to HB 1153 Act 931. Fines will be imposed to those that burn. This ban does not affect the agriculture burning practice. See attachments below regarding the rules and fines.

**EMPLOYMENT POSITION OPEN**

The Tensas Parish Police Jury is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Department employee. CDL class A license is preferred; but not required. Interested applicants should come by The Tensas Parish Police Jury at 212 Hancock Street, St Joseph La between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm to pick up an application.
