A very serious reminder as we get ready for school to be back in session next week (a few start this week).
Always stop when the stop-arm is out! It is the law!
Keep an eye out for kids getting on and off the school bus or crossing the street.
Slow down and stop for school buses. It only takes a second to make a big difference.

As the school year begins for kids in the coming weeks, remember to watch for buses, slow down, and come to a complete stop when the red sign is out or flashing. 🚌🛑

August is Back to School Month.
As students return to the classrooms in the coming weeks, the OHSP urges drivers to watch for school buses that are stopped to pick up or drop off students. In Michigan, drivers must stop at least 20 feet away from a school bus when its red lights are flashing. Drivers who pass stopped school buses may be charged with civil infractions carrying a fine up to $500. Penalties are much more severe for drivers who pass a stopped school bus and cause an injury or death. For more information, visit www.Michigan.gov/SchoolBusSafety.
