We can't wait to meet local families, show off our vehicle, answer questions, and give kids a closer look at the equipment we use to serve Buchanan County every day. I wanted to know what to do when people are having a medical emergency. Being an EMT, I have been able to help to a certain extent but I felt like I was capable of doing more. I also have had some amazing paramedic partners who I admire and aspire to be like.

The thing that has stood out to me the most is the amount of responsibility that a paramedic has. When we show up on scene, they are the one in charge and who everyone is looking at for help.

I am just excited to continue to learn and grow as a medical professional and be able to use the information we are learning to help patients.

The St. Joseph Goats are bringing football back home! ๐Ÿˆ After opening the 2026 season on the road, the Goats are ready for their home opener, and the celebration starts at the Goats 'n Bros Kickoff Party on June 5th, at Civic Center Park. If you're planning to enjoy the live music, food trucks, and family-friendly activities, remember to stay hydrated, look out for one another, and have a safe time celebrating.

Come see us at the Noyes Home Block Party! ๐Ÿš‘ Buchanan County EMS will be part of this fun, family-friendly community event with our Touch-A-Truck experience. Stop by to check out the ambulance, meet members of our team, learn about the equipment we use every day, and ask questions about EMS.

The block party will also feature games, activities, live entertainment, food, bounce houses, and more. We look forward to spending the evening with our St. Joseph community.

Weโ€™re looking forward to the 4th Annual St. Joseph Western Round-Up Youth Softball Tournament, taking place June 6โ€“7 at Heritage Park. ๐ŸฅŽ This yearโ€™s event features multiple age divisions from 10U through 18U, with teams from across the region coming together for a full weekend of competition. Pool play begins Saturday, followed by bracket play on Sunday at the Bill McKinney Softball Complex.

Itโ€™s always great to see young athletes compete, grow, and represent their teams right here in St. Joseph.

The next step in your EMS career starts here. ๐Ÿš‘ Applications for the Buchanan County EMS Paramedic Program open June 1. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and real-world experience, students gain the knowledge and confidence needed to provide advanced prehospital care.

If you are ready to grow your skills, challenge yourself, and make an even greater impact in the communities you serve, we encourage you to learn more about the program and apply. Applicants must already hold a current EMT license to be eligible for the program.
