🚒 Retirement Announcement – Captain Patrick O’Connor 👏

On Friday, June 12, Captain Patrick O’Connor hung up his gear for the final time, retiring after more than 27 years of dedicated service to the Saint Joseph Fire Department.

Throughout his career, Captain O’Connor served the department and community with professionalism, dedication, and commitment. His impact on those he worked alongside and the citizens he served will not be forgotten.

We would like to congratulate Captain O’Connor on an outstanding career and wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement. Thank you for your service.

🔥 Structure Fire Response North End 🚒

Around noon, SJFD firefighters from Engine 4, Engine 9, Engine 12, Rescue 1, Rescue 10, and Truck 7 were dispatched to reports of a structure fire on the North End.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and flames showing and made an aggressive interior fire attack. The fire was brought under control shortly after.

Tomorrow at 7:00 AM, Captain Darrel Schildknecht will hang up his gear for the final time.

After 37 years of dedicated service, Captain Schildknecht will officially retire from the Saint Joseph Fire Department. Throughout his career, he has served the department and community with professionalism, dedication, and commitment.

We would like to congratulate Captain Darrel Schildknecht on an outstanding career and thank him for his many years of service. We wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.

🔥 Structure Fire Response Midtown 🚒

Last night around 2:00 AM, SJFD crews were dispatched to reports of a structure fire in Midtown.

Engine 9, Engine 12, Engine 4, Rescue 1, Rescue 10, Truck 7, and Battalion Chief 43 responded to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and flames showing and quickly initiated an aggressive fire attack.

Thanks to the rapid actions of responding crews, the fire was brought under control shortly after arrival and prevented from spreading further.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Yesterday, firefighters from Engine 4 C Shift helped the kiddos at Oak Grove cool down from a hot day during their field day time. The kids loved it, but our firefighters loved seeing them enjoy the cool down fun!!!

🔥 Structure Fire Response – Midtown 🚒

SJFD firefighters from Engine 9, Engine 4, Engine 11, Rescue 10, Rescue 1, Ladder 5, and Battalion 43 were dispatched to reports of a structure fire in Midtown.

Upon arrival, crews found flames and smoke showing and made an aggressive fire attack, bringing the fire under control shortly after.

During operations, firefighters were able to safely rescue multiple animals from the structure.
