December CLC meeting reminder...
rather than have our monthly CLC meeting we are changing things up this month. We will be meeting on Sunday, December 18, at 5 pm at Krug Park. Labor will be managing the Holiday Park donations collection. When you get to the park drive up the wrong way to the castle. There is parking up there for volunteers. You will be giving out cherry mashes and collecting donations from people driving through the holiday park. Dress warm and you might bring a rug, small piece of carpet or cardboard to stand on. It helps tremendously with cold feet! Lots of significant others and kids come too to help out. There is normally hot chocolate available to the volunteers and a little shop you can jump in to get out of the cold. If you prefer something to drink that may warm your bones a little more, bring it. If you have any kind of Christmas costumes or decorations by all means wear them!!! I know there will be a Santa and an elf in the group. The park is open until 10. If you can't stay the entire time, that's okay. Come for a while. If you have questions please text Darrick Inscho at 816-244-4407. He's our ring leader. Please pass onto all your union members that labor will be working that night and encourage them to drive through the park and bring some dollars. It's a contest between organizations as to who collects the most money. It's a fun night of camaraderie and doing something good for our community. Please join us and Merry Christmas!

The Northwest Missouri Central Labor Council and all affiliated unions officially endorse the half-cent sales tax initiative on the November 8th ballot to fund the St Joseph police department.

A dedicated police tax will improve officer recruitment and retention, make our police department a more competitive law enforcement employer, and better ensure that the community will not lose officers to surrounding departments.

We are asking all union members to vote Yes on November 8.

In Solidarity,
Mike Veale
