No-excuse absentee voting is now available at the Buchanan County Courthouse for the August 4, 2026, Primary Election.

Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 1: 8:00 a.m. – Noon
Monday, August 3: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

📌 Important: This is a Primary Election. When you check in to vote, you will be asked to choose one political party's ballot, or you may request a nonpartisan ballot if you are voting only on nonpartisan issues and candidates.

Polling Location Update for St. Peter Lutheran Church Voters

Beginning with the upcoming August 4th Primary Election, voters previously assigned to vote at St. Peter Lutheran Church will now vote at:

St. Joseph, MO 64505

The Buchanan County Clerk's Office worked to identify a location that could accommodate approximately 4,500 voters and continue providing a convenient voting experience for residents in the north end of the county.

The Buchanan County Courthouse will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day.

Regular business hours will resume on Monday, July 6.

The Buchanan County Commission was honored to host the Northwest Missouri County Commissioners Meeting at the Buchanan County Fairgrounds on June 18.

The day highlighted the continued growth of the Fairgrounds as a community campus, with regional leaders gathering for presentations, a vendor fair, and discussion, followed by an official ribbon cutting celebrating the progress made possible through the support of many volunteers, donors, partners, and community members.

We are proud to see the Fairgrounds Buchanan County through agriculture, education, youth programs, art, community events, and regional collaboration.
