Stop by the St. Marks Refuge's Visitor Center this Saturday between 10 AM and 12 PM to celebrate the completed boardwalk and grand re-opening! Light refreshments will be provided by Friends of St. Marks Wildlife Refuge.

After being in our Temporary Visitor Center (also know as our education building) since April of last year we are finally moved back into our regular Visitor Center. Located at 1255 Lighthouse Road Crawfordville, FL 32327 join refuge staff and friends for light refreshments from 10am to 12pm Saturday August 22nd!

Fifty five Friends are attending today's Second Sunday Talk: A Year in Bees: Seasons of North Florida's Native Bees, w/Rob Diaz de Villegas at Wakulla Environmental Institute.

Rob is sharing his in-depth knowledge of the species of bees supporting north Florida's ecosystem.

Registration will open for Don Morrow's Second Sunday Talk scheduled for September 13th.

About Rob: Years of photographing North Florida bees have changed Rob Diaz de Villegas' perspective on seasonality. Whether in the garden or in the Apalachicola National Forest, our area's bees are a diverse lot. Some fly for most of the year, taking pollen and nectar from a variety of flowers. Many others, however, are specialists we only see for the weeks their host flowers are in bloom. A few of these local specialists are rare. Every bee tells a story about the changing of the seasons, and the smaller seasons within each season.

Stop by the Nature Store on Fridays from 9 AM through 4 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM through 5 PM.
