Two St. Martinville Residents Arrested On Multiple Drug/Weapons Charges
Sheriff Becket Breaux announces that early this morning, September 25, 2020, following a lengthy investigation regarding suspected illegal drug activity; Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a Narcotics Search Warrant at a residence in the 2000 block of Catahoula Hwy., St. Martinville, LA.
Following the execution of the warrant, Deputies located suspected marijuana, suspected promethazine/codeine, suspected crack cocaine; suspected cocaine, MDMA, and a digital scale. They also located two firearms, items consistent with a clandestine laboratory, Six SNAP EBT Cards (that did not belong to either suspect), and a large amount of U.S. Currency.
At the culmination of the investigation, Deputies arrested Codie J. James, 41, St. Martinville, LA., and Jardell Olivier, 33, St. Martinville, LA., and charged them as follows:

Sheriff Becket Breaux would like to share the following message about an incident that occurred last week.
Should you encounter a situation where someone tries to run you off the road, attempts to strike your vehicle, or is driving erratically and putting you at risk of harm, please call 911 immediately.
If you or a loved one find yourself in this type of situation, we have a few tips to share to make it easier for us to locate you to provide immediate assistance.
When you call 911 stay on the phone with the dispatcher until help arrives.
Look for road names, Hwy. numbers, or landmarks to give to the 911 Dispatcher.
Give a description of the vehicle and driver if possible.
Try to stay calm.
Parents, please have a conversation with your children as to what they should do if they should encounter a situation such as this.
We want you and your kids to arrive home safely.
Malcolm Johnson Bravery Award
Sheriff Becket Breaux had the distinct honor this morning in presenting Mr. Malcolm Johnson with an award for his bravery and heroic actions.
On September 7, 2020, Mr. Johnson noticed a vehicle that was occupied by two unconscious individuals, driving in circles in a parking lot in Cecilia. Without hesitation, he used his vehicle to stop the circling vehicle, which prevented further property damage and bodily injury to those driving and walking in the parking lot.
Thank you to Mr. Malcolm Johnson and his wife Lisa for coming by this morning, it was a pleasure meeting both of you.

Catahoula Man Arrested On Numerous Failure To Appear Charges For Simple Burglary/Drug Offenses
St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux reports that yesterday afternoon following a short foot pursuit, Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office along with the assistance of Deputies with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Intelligence Division; arrested Cutler Theriot, 26, Catahoula, in the 1900 block of Rees Street on an active warrant for Simple Burglary. Cutler was also wanted for failure to appear on narcotics and simple burglary charges.
Following his arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the below charges:

Fourteen St. Martin Parish Correctional Center Inmates & One Former Inmate Arrested On Racketeering Charges
Today, following a four week investigation, Sheriff Becket Breaux announced that Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested fourteen inmates and one former inmate on racketeering charges. The investigation was initiated after contraband was discovered in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. During the course of the investigation, Deputies uncovered an elaborate drug distribution network carried out by both “working inmates” and general population inmates.
At the culmination of the investigation, warrants of arrest were obtained and the following currently incarcerated inmates were charged as follows:
Daylon Alexander, 40, Kieon Alexander, 23, Marshall Alexander, 42, Quincy Alexander, 42, Hayven Augillard, 33, Joshua Dardar, 40, Austin Granger, 21, Arlondo Henson, 49, Brenan Jean Batiste, 19, Homer John, 38, Kentrell Ledet, 27, Demarcus Smith, 21, Javonty Williams, 21, Gerald Zenon, 39
Danah Thibodeaux, 29, was released prior to the culmination of the investigation and was arrested this morning following the execution of a warrant on the below charges:

LA. 40:966(A)-Manufacture; distribution of Schedule I-controlled substances (synthetic marijuana)

LA. 14:402-Certain activities regarding contraband in penal institutions prohibited (Introduction of Contraband)
LA. R.S. 40:1041-Transactions involving proceeds from controlled dangerous substances activity
All of the individuals were booked on the above charges with the exception of Daylon Alexander, who was extradited to a correctional facility in Texas during the course of the investigation. He will be extradited at a later date to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center where he will be booked in on the above charges.

One Arrested On Multiple Drug/Weapon Charges Information Sought In Connection With Whereabouts Of Second Suspect
Sheriff Becket Breaux reports that this morning, following a narcotics investigation regarding reports of suspected illegal drug activity, Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 1200 block of Cypress Island Extension. Following the execution of the warrant, Deputies located four firearms; 3.5 pounds of suspected high grade marijuana, several jars of THC Wax (a.k.a. “DAB”), several e-cigarette cartridges containing suspected high potency THC liquid, along with various items of drug paraphernalia and packaging material consistent with the distribution of marijuana.
At the culmination of the investigation, Deputies arrested Christine Nicole Cormier, 38, Breaux Bridge, on the following charges:

In the past several days, the St. Martin Parish Sherff's Office has received complaints of individual’s riding ATV’s and dirt bikes on private property. Unfortunately, landowners have faced property damage due to these individuals trespassing on their property.
It’s summer and we understand that you want to enjoy the outdoors, however; if you own an off-road vehicle, please refrain from trespassing on private property and instead, get prior permission from the landowner to do so, or please utilize some of the many commercial establishments in our area that offer off-road vehicle trails.
If you are caught trespassing, you may be subject to criminal charges. We appreciate you adhering to the laws that govern off-road vehicle use. On top of facing criminal charges, you will also incur a fee for the towing of the vehicle.
Additionally, should you suspect illegal drug activity is occurring in your neighborhood, please contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Tip Line at 337-394-2626, or contact 911 to report it.

Investigators Seeking Information As To The Identity Of Five Suspects Wanted In Connection With Early Morning Burglary
Shortly after 4:00 a.m. this morning, Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm activation at a business in the 1000 block of Coteau Rodaire Road in Arnuadville, LA. Upon further investigation, it was determined that five individuals all wearing masks and hoodies, were seen on video surveillance at approximately 4:00 a.m. driving a pickup truck in reverse through the front window of the business. After several attempts, they were able to remove the ATM and they subsequently fled the scene.
Investigators also determined that the truck used in the burglary, was previously reported stolen at approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning from a residence in the 1800 block of Anse Broussard Road. The truck was located this afternoon in a rural area of Arnaudville.
