Significant power outages still exist throughout St. Martin Parish. Moreover, many roads remain obstructed with downed trees and related storm debris.

Therefore, after consultation with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Parish’s OEP, the previously imposed curfew has been extended by Parish President Chester Cedars beginning today (Saturday), October 10, 2020, at 7:00 P.M. and ending on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at 7:00 A.M.

The curfew applies only to upper St. Martin Parish and does not apply to certified first responders, utility providers, and essential governmental employees.

Parish President Chester Cedars give a noon update on Category 1 Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm Laura.

Marco is scheduled to make landfall as a Cat. 1 Hurricane in SE Louisiana Monday and follow the I-10 corridor westward into our area. 24-36 hours later, Laura is scheduled to make landfall along the border of La. and Texas as a Cat. 2 hurricane, putting us on the east (bad) side. Its track will then be NE much like Rita in 2005. THESE ARE PROJECTIONS and may change, especially Laura.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office Announces A New Way To Connect With Sheriff Becket Breaux

Sheriff Becket Breaux would like to announce that due to the recent COVID-19 restrictions, he will be implementing a new way for the public to reach out to him. He promised St. Martin Parish an open door policy, and he’s doing everything in his power to make that happen even through these uncertain times. You will now be able to schedule meetings with the sheriff through “ZOOM” – a virtual face to face meeting over your smart phone or your computer.

To schedule your appointment, please contact his Administrative Assistant, Danielle by phone (337.394.2503) or via email ([email protected]). The Sheriff looks forward to meeting you, and hopes this helps us all feel united even though we can’t all be in the same room right now.

God Bless.
