This morning, members of the CFD attended mass at Sacred Heart Church in honor of St. Florian Day. St. Florian is the patron saint of firefighters. All the members received a blessing to be watched over as they respond to calls and dangers that might arise.

At last night’s fire drill, we practiced rural water movement. We utilized two portable ponds with a tanker shuttle and also simulated relay pumping to supply the ponds and attack engine.

In honor of Earth Day, the CFD assisted the St. Marys Heritage Preservation Group with their spring clean up. The CFD was tasked with washing off sidewalks in the downtown area making them look sharp again!

We would like to sincerely thank ECCSS for their continued support. Not only did they prepare wonderful snack bags for us, but they also raised money to support the CFD.

A special thank you to Anna Biondi and Ali Groll for helping put the gift bags together and for presenting us with a check to support the fire department so we can better serve our community.

We would also like to recognize the ECCSS boys’ basketball team for starting a new program called Pass with a Purpose. They chose the fire department as the recipient of their fundraising efforts, and we are truly honored that they thought of us.

We cannot thank everyone enough for their generosity and support. We wish the boys’ basketball team the best of luck for the rest of their season!

The Crystal Fire Department would like to thank ECCSS for their generous donation of to go snack bags. Students hand painted the bags and then packed them with nourishment items for us to use on calls. We greatly appreciate them!

With the upcoming storm, please take a moment to clear snow from any fire hydrants near your home. Keeping hydrants accessible allows emergency crews to respond quickly and efficiently when needed.

Last night, the CFD participated in shop with a first responder at Walmart. Along with us, Johnsonburg Fire Department, Fox Township Fire Department, Ridgway Fire Department, Jay Township Fire Department, Wilcox Volunteer Fire Department, Elkland Search and Rescue and several law enforcement agencies participated in the event. It was an honor to help spread joy and smiles for these kids as well as all of those in attendance. Thank you to Walmart Saint Marys - Million Dollar Hwy for hosting such a wonderful event. We were honored to host Shop with a First Responder and spend the evening giving back to our community!

Thank you to the 23 Firefighters from 6 Fire Departments, 2 Search and Rescue Locals, 15 Officers from 4 Local Stations, and 14 Troopers from Barracks who joined us to help 24 amazing kids enjoy a special shopping experience.

Seeing the smiles, laughter, and holiday joy made this evening truly unforgettable. We’re proud to support our local first responders and the families they serve—thank you for all that you do! 💙✨
