"To the Sons of St. Mary's College who served their Country in the World War." So reads the text of the WWI memorial arch on the St. Mary's College campus. The picture shows this unique monument in its splendor many years ago. Today, portions of it are missing, and it is overall in a state of disrepair. We would like to encourage everyone to visit https://savethearch.org/ to learn about preservation efforts.

What a great turnout last night! Thank you to all who attended the "Save the Arch" event. It was great seeing St. Marys come together as a community to start this initiative in order to save a great piece of this town's history.

For those of you who were unable to attend, we will soon post a video recording of the talk on our website.

Thank you to the Kaw Valley Chamber of Commerce for hosting the event, Invictus Photography for these great photos, and Ray's Apple Markets for the beautiful cake to celebrate Lt. William Fitzsimmons' 135th birthday.

With the power back on, the event continues as planned!
