FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Elk County Democratic Committee Announces Quadrennial Reorganizational Meeting
The Elk County Democratic Committee hereby gives notice of the scheduling of its Quadrennial Reorganizational Meeting for the term extending from June 2026 through June 2030.
Committee Chair Rich Schweikart has called the meeting for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Elk County Democratic Committee, located at 210 Brusselles Street, St. Marys, Pennsylvania.
The purpose of the meeting is for all duly elected Precinct Committee Members (PCMs) elected during the May 2026 Primary Election to convene and elect officers who will serve the Committee during the 2026–2030 term.
The reorganizational meeting represents a critical milestone for the Committee, as it will determine the leadership and direction of the Democratic Party in Elk County for the next four years. All duly elected Precinct Committee Members are strongly encouraged to attend and fulfill this important responsibility.
Current Committee leadership also welcomes all registered Democrats in Elk County to attend. Individuals interested in becoming more involved are encouraged to volunteer for appointment to the Executive Committee or vacant Precinct Committee Member positions and to serve on the Committee's standing and temporary subcommittees.
In addition, registered Democrats who have been registered as Democrats for at least two years prior to the May 19, 2026 Primary Election and who are interested in being nominated and elected to a county officer position—including County Chair, Vice Chair, or Treasurer—are encouraged to attend the meeting. Eligible individuals who are unable to attend may contact a duly elected Precinct Committee Member to seek nomination and representation during the officer election process.
With the 2026 General Election approaching, participation from Democrats across Elk County will be essential to advancing Democratic values, protecting our freedoms, strengthening our communities, and preserving our democracy. The Committee encourages every Democrat to become involved in the work ahead.
A virtual Zoom option will be available for those wishing to participate remotely. However, in accordance with Committee rules, Precinct Committee Members must be physically present to cast votes in the election of officers.
