Register Today: Fall Legislative & Research Committee meeting

The Minnesota Association of Townships Legislative & Research (L&R) Committee develops, reviews, and recommends legislative actions on behalf of townships. All township officers are invited and encouraged to attend.

DATE: Tuesday, September 15, 2026
TIME: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
LOCATION: Minnesota Association of Townships Office, 805 Central Ave E, St. Michael, MN 55376. (There is a dedicated parking lot available.)
COST: FREE! There will be no cost to township officers to encourage increased attendance and participation. Included are materials and light refreshments.

MAT District Meeting season starts today! 🎉

The first MAT District Meeting kicks off this evening in Mower County, and we look forward to seeing township officers from across Minnesota over the coming weeks.

District Meetings are a great opportunity to connect with fellow township officials, hear the latest MAT updates, participate in Association business, and, in select districts, vote in District Director elections.

Another successful stop on MAT's Four Corners Training tour!

Thank you to the township officers and employees who joined us this week in Marshall for Clerk and Treasurer Training. Along with sessions in Roseau, Crookston, and Lancaster, these trainings helped bring practical education and resources to township officials across Minnesota.

🇺🇸 As America marks its 250th anniversary, MAT’s Summer Issue of the Township Insider magazine will feature a special section celebrating the traditions, gatherings, and hometown pride that make Minnesota townships unique.
We’re looking for photos and short stories that capture the spirit of township life, including:
📸 Fourth of July parades
📸 Memorial Day programs and veterans memorials
📸 Flags flying at township halls
📸 Community picnics, summer festivals, and local celebrations
📸 Volunteer fire pancake breakfasts
📸 Township clean-up days
📸 Community baseball, tractor rides, county fairs, and other hometown traditions
