We're excited to host Junior Ranger Camp again this summer. ☀️ This year’s camp will include a partially self‑guided adventure. Pick up your Junior Ranger booklet at the front desk of the UVA Wise Oxbow Center in St. Paul to get started.

To earn your badge:
✔️ Complete all activities in the booklet.
✔️ Join a park ranger for 3 out of 5 in‑person activities.
✔️ Once everything is completed, bring your booklet to the park office to receive a Junior Ranger badge and certificate.

📍 All in‑person programs will meet at the UVA Wise Oxbow Center.
July 3: River Critters, 1 p.m.
July 10: Fishing with a Ranger, 1 p.m.
July 17: Nature Scavenger Hunt, 1 p.m.
July 24: Nature Painting, 1 p.m.
July 31: Critters of the Commonwealth, 1 p.m.

In honor of National Trails Day, we're hosting a ranger-led hike along the Sugar Hill Loop Trail. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring water. This adventure is about 1 mile.

Beginning June 1, Clinch River State Park will start rolling out parking fees at our four boat launch sites. We want to make sure everyone has plenty of time to adjust, so here’s what to expect:

📅 Memorial Day through Oct. 31: Grace period; no fines, just friendly reminders
📅 Nov. 1: Civil penalty enforcement beings
🚗 Fees: $5 parking | $3 boat launch

These fees will be implemented at the following locations:
🚣‍♀️ Artrip: (Russell County) 3084 Artrip Road, Cleveland, VA 24225
🚣‍♀️ Old Castlewood: (Russell County) 206 Luttie Banner Drive, Castlewood, VA 24224
🚣‍♀️ Carbo: (Russell County) 92 Carbo Church Ave. Cleveland, VA 24225
