"UnitedHealth Group posted third-quarter profits in excess of $4 billion as millions of U.S. residents face another hike in their health insurance premiums, or the imminent loss of their Medicaid coverage."

It’s abhorrent to see these profit margins taking priority over patient care under the Trump Administration. I’m working on strategies in Minnesota that put people first. We need a health care system to replace the insurance system.

The Minnetonka-based health insurance giant posted massive quarterly profits, 75% higher than the same period last year.

Redwood Park just needs one fence finished, and the city expects a soft opening in early to mid October.

Health insurance for more than 320,000 seniors will be thrown into chaos as about a dozen Medicare Advantage plans are being eliminated. Meanwhile, because Trump and the GOP-led Congress chose not to extend ACA premium tax credits, premiums are expected to spike for folks on the individual market.

Minnesotans deserve better.

All approved insurers will raise rates by at least 10 percent in Minnesota’s individual and small-group markets, as higher healthcare costs and expired ACA tax credits put pressure on consumers.

Families deserve to know why big corporate insurers are denying critical care coverage for children with serious medical needs.

State law requires commercial health plans to cover physician-prescribed home care nursing (HCN) for children who are enrolled in Medical Assistance. I'm discussing with the Minnesota Department of Commerce how we can quickly take action to keep these very ill children covered.

Minnesotans with complex medical needs rely on specialized care that allows them to live independently at home. Earlier this month, I visited with providers and learned more at Handi Care in St. Paul, a home medical equipment facility. No surprise: they're facing significant affordability and economic challenges amid Medicaid cuts, tariffs, and workforce shortages.

Without federal partnership, the state will have to step in. I'm working on strategies with my colleagues to keep these facilities viable, so Minnesotans get the care they need and deserve.
