This take the opportunity to appreciate nature around you. Whether it is a public park, your garden, or a pot of flowers on your balcony. Pollinators are essential for the sustainability of our food systems and our natural areas!

Minnesota remains committed to work for lands that provide food, nesting and overwintering habitat for pollinators. Restoration work in public lands continues at a steady pace and public participation in programs to install and maintain pollinator habitat in private lands has increased in the past decade.

Check out the progress we are making on our pollinator protection goals by reviewing our latest scorecards here:

Did you know Minnesota has a Pollinator Action Framework?

The interagency pollinator protection team developed this framework to strategically guide the allocation of resources, policies and programs and to prioritize actions to help pollinators. All Minnesotans are welcome to use this document to find ideas to take action to protect pollinators in their communities.

Join us in celebrating International Pollinator Week!

Pollinators are animals that help carry pollen from flower to flower and are responsible for the reproduction of many plants. About 75% of food crops need pollinators to live! Unfortunately, they are threatened by the loss of their habitat, climate change, pesticides, and diseases and parasites.

In Minnesota, we value pollinators’ contributions to our environment, economy, and way of life. This year marks the 10-year anniversary of our interagency efforts to protect pollinators in our state.

Follow us this week to learn more about actions state agencies are taking to help pollinators and how you can get involved.
