ENROLL NOW: Interested in learning more about the Saint Paul Police Department? Now is your chance by signing up for our 2026 Civilian Police Academy.

Classes will be held every Tuesday starting on October 6 through November 17 from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

You’ll get to see and hear first-hand about the SPPD’s various specialty units (Investigations, Canine, SWAT, Crime Lab, and more) and how officers serve our community each and every day.

Your Saint Paul police officers stopped by a great lemonade stand on the East Side this weekend. It was the perfect chance to connect with our city's youth and youngest entrepreneurs!

A team of 20 Saint Paul Police officers will see how they fare against Harding/Humboldt high schools in our first-ever flag football game on Thursday, July 30.

Admission is free with the option of making a donation to the Harding/Humboldt Athletics program.

There will also be great food from Philly Station and The American Dream Machine for sale.

This is more than just a game – it’s about coming together as a community to support our youth and officers. All are welcome and we hope to pack the stands!

• Where: Harding High School (1540 East 6th Street, Saint Paul, MN 55106)

• Time: Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Kickoff at 6 p.m.

With electric scooters and bicycles becoming more common, we’ve been seeing more crashes, reported complaints, and overall questions regarding their use.

The most important reminder is that these aren’t toys – they’re regulated under state law. Riders, as well as parents or guardians of riders who are underage, are responsible for knowing and following these laws.

We know that fireworks are often part of many people’s summer celebrations. However, each year, we respond to hundreds of fireworks-related calls – many of which could be prevented by everyone taking a moment to understand the city ordinances and state laws surrounding their use.

Please remember:

• Fireworks come with a fire risk as well as the potential for criminal damage to property.

• Responsible use of legal fireworks includes cleaning up the trash and debris they leave behind.

• Be considerate of others and understand how fireworks can impact your neighbors.

Community Service, Carolen Bailey Mentoring, Medal of Valor.

Your Saint Paul Police officers were nominated for and received several awards at the annual Minnesota Association of Women Police conference.

Officer Joelle Schutz received the Community Service award for her work in the ASPIRE Unit and connecting with Saint Paul youth.

Sergeant Chelsey Siverling received the Carolen Bailey Mentoring award for her efforts within the Training Unit and our academy classes.

Officer Melissa Leistikow and Sergeant Megan Kosloske received the Medal of Valor for their actions and courage during a use of force incident last summer.

Congratulations to Officers Schutz and Leistikow, and Sergeants Siverling and Kosloske! We're proud of you and happy you received this recognition.
