Minnesota schools and child care providers can now apply for AGRI Farm to Kids Programs, which reimburse eligible purchases of food grown or raised in Minnesota. With $1.47 million available, that means more Minnesota food on kids’ plates and more opportunities for local farmers!

Huge thanks to everyone who came to our first ever open-mic style listening session on Tuesday! This new format gave us a chance to have real, in-depth conversations about everything from taxes to climate to ranked choice voting. In a chaotic political environment, it’s a privilege to get to peel back the hard shell of partisanship and get to what matters most. We have more in common than what divides us, and Tuesday was a great example of that. I’m looking forward to the next one!

Great news!

Lake Riley, Rice Marsh Lake, and Hyland Lake have been removed from the impaired waters list. 👏

The Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District is excited to announce the delistings of Riley, Rice Marsh, and Hyland lakes from the impaired waters list!

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) maintains an impaired waters list as required by the federal Clean Water Act. These three lakes were on the list due to an excess of nutrients such as phosphorus. After projects implemented by the District and its partners, these lakes now meet state water quality standards.

I’m grateful and proud to be an American. Loving our country means knowing that we’ve got a lot of work to do to become a more perfect union. I wouldn’t want to do that work anywhere else. 🇺🇸

Calling all rising juniors & seniors!

Want hands-on experience in how government actually works? The Academy for Public Service is recruiting students for the Minnesota Model House of Representatives on July 8–10 at the Minnesota State Capitol.

Students will draft and debate bills (use existing legislation, propose amendments, or write your own!), learn the ins and outs of legislative procedure, and build real skills in collaboration, networking, and policy analysis.

Sessions are open to the public, so parents, friends, family, and legislators are welcome to stop by and watch democracy in action.
