Had you attended Thursday’s TM meeting, you would have:
Heard Wayne Hansen sharing personal experiences he enjoyed while traveling in Poland and Germany. Wayne opened the speech with a gem of wisdom, “A stranger is simply a friend you haven’t met yet.”
And a visiting Toastmaster telling the harrowing experiences her extended family endured as they fled war-ravaged Vietnam in the mid-1970s.

What indulgence or “guilty pleasure” do you allow yourself to enjoy? To Mike, who answered from an alternative perspective - - What guilty pleasure does he work to avoid? He explained he’s working hard to avoid troublesome temptations.

Describe a trip or vacation that changed your life: to Kirby Johnson:
Thirty years ago, Kirby visited Panama to support the publication of a coffee table photo book which solidified for him a guiding principle, “When you’re someplace new, remember to look around.”

Describe one of the oldest things in your house. To Keith Hardy:
Keith elected to address a previous question. Keith revealed he had just returned from an interstate beer run where he procured his favorite adult indulgence. New Glarus Brewing Company beer.

You would have enjoyed the supportive feedback given to the speakers.
Speech 1: “Great storytelling ability.” “Well crafted opening.” “The presentation was detail-rich.”

Speech 2: You would have heard the encouraging feedback the speakers received. “Skills evident in structure, gestures, vocal variety and poise.” “Used beautiful language.” “Great use of space.”
