MnDOT’s Phoenix Student Worker Program gives high school students an early look at transportation careers. Beginning the summer before their senior year, students work up to 40 hours/week alongside MnDOT professionals on real projects that support Minnesota communities. They can then continue working part‑time during the school year to keep growing their professional skills and understanding.
This year, all 15 students who joined the Phoenix Program chose to stay on through their senior year.
Additionally, 10 former Phoenix students who completed the program in June chose to continue working at MnDOT as they head into college, bringing real‑world insight to their classroom learning.
