Why doesn't the MN Secretary of State, nor the Ramsey County Elections check on the residency of candidates?
My situation should never have happened. The new Redistricted lines had not been widely available by the time I went to file for Ramsey County District 6. I had been living in District 6 for a long time and when the career politician was considering retirement to collect on his multiple pensions I decided to run for the open seat in District 6. They did not tell me I lived in the new District 3. RCE's policy was that someone can run in an area they currently do not live in as long as they moved to the new area 30 days from the election. I wasn't going to move from the house I purchased with my late wife Betty in 1992. The incumbent County Commissioners need to be completely replaced with people who are dedicated to changing the status quo to creating opportunities for all people not just the cronies of those who were elected a decade ago.
