This past winter, Frogtown Farm led the Farm and Garden Planning for Climate Justice program, funded by the Carbon Neutral Cities Alliance (CNCA) in partnership with the City of Saint Paul. Through the program, growers from our Farm Incubator Program and community members came together to share lived experiences and develop real recommendations for how the City can better support urban agriculture, green space, and local food systems.

We are especially grateful for the partnership and support of Saint Paul Climate Action Coordinator who worked alongside the farm throughout this process and helped shape and move these recommendations forward.

Yesterday, that work moved from community conversation to City Hall.

During the public hearing for Saint Paul’s Climate Action and Resilience Plan, our Executive Director and Frogtown Farm Programs Manager and grower testified, helping bring forward recommendations shaped through this work. Together, they spoke to the importance of urban agriculture, local food systems, and community-rooted solutions in building a more resilient Saint Paul.

The plan passed with language that formally recognizes urban farms, community gardens, and local food systems as essential tools for food security, climate resilience, and healthier communities.

This matters.

When communities have access to land, green space, and the ability to grow food close to home, neighborhoods become more resilient to climate change, food insecurity, and systems that too often leave communities behind.

That is the work we show up for every day at Frogtown Farm. Yesterday, community voices helped move it forward.

Today is Earth Day.

One Day. One Earth. One Minnesota.

We’re still here. And we’re building what’s next.
Right now, 11 Minnesota organizations are working side by side to protect waterways, restore habitat, expand access to green space, advance environmental justice, and strengthen climate resilience across our state.
Today, you can support all of it with one gift.

Your donation will be distributed across every participating nonprofit — strengthening environmental work in communities statewide. Every gift will be matched up to $38,700!

If Minnesota’s lakes, rivers, prairies, and neighborhoods matter to you, this is a meaningful way to invest in them.

We’re excited to be part of something bigger. 🌳

Frogtown Farm is teaming up with The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation , Room & Board, and the Arbor Day Foundation to bring a large-scale tree planting initiative to the Twin Cities, and it’s coming right here to Frogtown.

On May 1, we’re hosting a community tree planting + giving away 100 FREE trees to residents.

This work is about more than planting.
It’s about expanding our urban canopy, increasing food access, and building long-term climate resilience, together.

👉 Check out the varieties available, tell us what you’re interested in, and let us know you’re coming: https://bit.ly/4vJ3zh7

And help us spread the word—share this with your neighbors, family, and community.

Let’s make sure every tree finds a home.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for Frogtown Farm. 💚

Your generosity makes this work possible — feeding families, supporting growers, nurturing youth, and caring for the land we all share.

Because of you, we raised $13,652 for Give to the Max (with more still coming in and Flava Café’s 3% contribution on the way). Your support helps carry this work into next season — keeping our farm resilient, rooted, and community-powered.

Special gratitude to Shaunie Grigsby, our Board Chair + owner of Flava Café, for pouring into Community Coffee Day. ☕💚

Did we miss you yesterday?
It’s not too late to support the farm and help seed next season’s work.
Year-end giving is open, and every gift strengthens our food access, grower training, youth programs, and community events.
